Don't for one second allow hiccuping Rip's easygoing manner to lull you into repose; there's a strong country-bop undercurrent in his writing. That tenor rises to claim dominion over finger-popping, stage-front adherents. The occasionally Burlison-esque leads only further seal their fates.
