Sonny and band tore up many-a stage; even much of their Sun wax left turntables billowing smoke. Among the features that distinguished their collective feral personality were raucous trumpet blasts amid more usual Rockabilly rampaging and Sonny's own gravel-throated declarations. Immediately identifiable, the trailbreaker persevered with the sound that earned him original renown. He was joined by erstwhile Blaster Dave Alvin for a 1992 effort that documented enduring standing. These preserved romps attest to the embryonic era's wonder.
