Moody Fairy

A Fairy Who Couldn't Fly

(Self-issued)

Moody Fairy's austere electric strummings are already familiar as one of Pretty Dirty Rats' distinctive qualities. Her understated and sometimes plaintive singing, too, augments that combo's personality. Evidenced in this autonomous endeavor is the artist-next-door's faculty for existential and fantastical wordcraft that is striking for its forthrightness.

Of song "Doll," she wrote on Facebook: "I imagine I'm a doll when I sing this... [T]his song is in the depths of feeling like an abandoned plaything and how horrific it can feel. Perhaps you know this feeling. But you know, when you actually haven't been abandoned. Writing songs helps. I am a moody fairy, after all."
