They resound as obstreperous affronts with slapdash grins and hypno-coin eyes that crash through the doors of perception and, Ronson lighters aloft, throw gasoline all over the joint.

"I wanted to do 13 as a tribute, out of respect," singer Alabama Sharp emailed me. "Shine some light and nod my head to some of the originals."

Of course those can't be surpassed. But the Go-Go Killers do wring abundant and unique exuberance from the lunatic classics. And that's the finest, most alive tribute possible.
