Deke Dickerson and the Whippersnappers
Honky Tonkin' Rhythm
(Major Label / Self-issued)
In addition to being among the most adroit pickers extant, Deke possesses a grained voice appropriate for pastoral material. Honky Tonk country may be a niche interest, but its adherants are devoted and the genre never had truer and more reverential portrayal.
On red-vinyl, this is a version of Deke's CD of about 5 months ago. Only 300 copies were pressed. It's available only at his website and at gigs.
