 The Duke Robillard Band

They Called It Rhythm & Blues

(Stony Plain)

By this date, Duke has earned the title His Eminence in the blues world. Now, he's assembled a plethora of talents incuding Kim Wilson and John Hammond to record possibly the finest finger-popping and hip-dipping rhythm and blues disc of recent vintage.

If I were a recording guitarist, upon hearing this I'd unplug and go home. It's executive class.

Recommended: "Here I'm Is," "No Good Lover," "Fools Are Getting Scarcer," "Tell Me Why," "Rambler Blues," "In The Wee Wee Hours," "She's My Baby," "I Can't Understand It," "Eat Where You Slept Last Night," "Swingin' For Four Bills"
