Roky Erikson & the Explosives

Live At The Whisky 1981

(Sunset Blvd Records)

Roky's studio attempts at conveying his cracked conceptions were intriguing, but a live setting may have been superior for that cause. While the band hammered away in raucous, ear-shattering manner, the man himself wove disordered narratives of the sort usually heard by mental health professionals and monster-movie addicts.
