With each concert or marketed recording, Jim Heath looses flash-fluttering murmurations of licks rooted in tradition but stunning in Today raiment. His jocular lyricism and regular-guy exhortations extend hand-shaking familiarity. Top-drawer cohorts Jimbo Wallace and Scott Churilla marvel onlookers by not just equaling the Rev's neck-snapping pace, but doing so with heated distinction.
