Boomerang quickly followed 2023's Snake Oil. "I can't stop writing songs!," declared singer/Farfisa-spellbinder Nicole Laurenne. Part the hanging bead-strands and bear witness to so-far-out-it's-back-in stomping, as consciousness-bending as it is hip-shakingly seductive. But lest readers misapprehend, know too that not all is incense-and-peppermints; these chord-slingers survived Punk academy, and know well how to throw fists. In symbiosis with voicings sometimes of tower block-magnitude and elsewhere purringly whispered, fuzzy riffs coil and lash, ricocheting off day-glo wallpaper.
"This album is my manifesto about finding strength," said Nicole. "I'm in a better place than I've ever been, and I think you can feel that power in this record."
