Persons unfamiliar with Geoffrey may be favorably persuaded by the knowledge thar this Bakersfieldian work was mixed and mastered by Deke Dickerson at Ecco-Fonic studio. Touches on all the right aspects: Wryly observational, plaintive, exultant, resignedly blue, sanguine, and ultimately love wise. With first-chair accompanists giving up their all.

Like reincarnations of 1970s CBGB spark plugs, Tuxedo Cats perform an ass-kicking-the-moribund-mainstream favor. This would have fit neatly on Seymour Stein's Sire label. But we've got them in the present; looking at current pop charts, they arrived at precisely the right moment. More such as this is desperately needed to shake up the status quo.
