Indians

Ven Conmigo

(Independent)

Whosoever drops into this ride will be assured of a smooth and swinging cruise. At turns rocking and reflective, it offers much for entertainment.

The band includes Dani Trabal, is cohesive, and of first calibre. Players mesh consumately and navigate the thoughtful material with agility. Theirs is a robust performance.

Recommended: "Hot Rod Baby," "Hombre de Poca Fe," "Why," "en Conmigo," "Wheneer You're Ready," "Mi dulce Lola," "Largo Tren," "Dicen que estoy Loco," "Lotta Lovin'," "La Trampa"

Guerilla Splinter

"Victoria"

video

This writer is faced with a predicament: Guerilla Splinter are a Chilean punk ska band richly deserving of visibility, and I desire to advance that cause. Globally.

But their Facebook page is in Spanish, and I don't speak it. I know they'e issued singles, but I can't determine whether they have an album out; I've only seen their videos.

I am pursuing more information, and have reached out to Guerilla Splinter. In the meantime, readers are advised to investigate the combo. An excellent place to begin is by watching the video linked below.

The Royal Flush

just a bottle of booze

(Rockabilly Stomp)

Royal Flush operate as a hardened juggernaut. They are intent only on a good time, and possess the requisite drive and appetite to realize that ambition. The present writer advises investigation.

Recommended: "Just a Bottle Of Booze," "Jumping Left, Jumping Right," "Tears In the Sun," "Time To Bop," "Call My Lady," "Switchblade," "Grasshopper"

Peter and the Wolves

Worth the Trouble

(Independent)

Piano man / guitarist Peter isn't reticent about saluting storied predecessors. Such isn't unwarranted. In his vocals are evident many-a nightspot-road ruggedly traveled. For those desirous of roots musics as long ago wrought.

Recommended: "Worth the Trouble," "One Too Many," "Hurricane," "Smoky In the Kitchen," "Bow Valley Beat," "Sedative"

Dani Trabal Duo

Cuando grita el silencio

(Independent)

Everyone needs an occasional respite from the storm, and here is such relief. A pleasantly low-key, acoustic and standup pair that offer pacific melodies that soothe and gently entertain.

Recommended: "En la ciudad," "Cuando Grita el Silencio," "His Latest Flame (Marie's the Name," "Bésame," "Well...All Right"

Gabi Halstead
D.E.V.I.L.
digital single
(Independent)

Sultry chanteuse Gabi lets loose with a full-throated paean to someone special, and enjoys robust backing along the course. One cannot be too salutary re the wisdom of pairing her boldly declarative voice with brawny accompaniment. It's a propitious combination.

Solon Fishbone y Los Cobras

Heart & Soul

(Nova Paradoxx Music)

Solon sits down on it hard, as only born-to-communicate six-stringers can. A direct spiritual line stretches between his heart and his fingertips. And therein lies the secret to remarkable musicianship.

Recommended: "I Ain't Got No Reason To Cry," "You Don't Have To Go," "Blues In D-Flat," "You Got Me Out Of My Mind," "Fishbone's Boogie," "Roll, Roll, Roll," "Borrowed Swang"
