The Young and Wild Ones
self-titled
(KEiL Records)
Some of the music was written and performed by the assembled as youths. (They've since moved on to various other musical pursuits, examples of which are also included here.) A hearty mix of rockabilly and psychobilly, with slap bass rightly to the fore. Variegated perspectives on genres revered, dealt with manifest fervor. Passion is palpable.
"[T]he new blood that the scene is supposedly completely lacking," observed label owner Tom Keil, in a press release.
