Like reincarnations of 1970s CBGB spark plugs, Tuxedo Cats perform an ass-kicking-the-moribund-mainstream favor. This would have fit neatly on Seymour Stein's Sire label. But we've got them in the present; looking at current pop charts, they arrived at precisely the right moment. More such as this is desperately needed to shake up the status quo.
