Bill Haley and His Comets

Rocks, Clocks & Alligators: All the Hits & More 1953-1961

(Jasmine)

Bill is sometimes given short shrift by chroniclers of Sam and cohorts. Born in Michigan, he blended numerous American genres to create a revolutionary sound. He was, in his time and into perpetuity, an original whose stylings changed the world for the better. Not bad, for a kiss-curled cat from up North.

Recommended: "Crazy Man, Crazy:" "Rock Around the Clock," "Shake, Rattle & Roll," "Razzle Dazzle," "Rock-A-Beatin' Boogie," "See You Later, Alligaor," "R-O-C-K," "Rockin' Through the Rye," "Rudy's Rock," "Don't Knock thee Rock," "Rock the Joint"
