Spud Sims & the Beltways

s/t

(Shed Stomp Records)

Spud's forthright words and understated delivery convey open-hearted frankness. Though restrained, his singing implies steeliness. He's surrounded himself with seasoned Country players who know the attitudes of work-calloused barroom revellers and speak the language. Rough-hewn ramblings underscore Spud's unaffectedness.

Recommended: "She Makes It Easy (To Fall In Love)," "Can We Be More Than Friends," "One Summer Night," "Slowly But Surely"

Videos: "Can We Be More Than Friends?"   "One Summer Night"
