Ramones

Subterranean Jungle Demos   Yellow vinyl

(Rhino Records)

Of paramount interest to glue-stuck exponents of the buzzsaw-pop-with-psych-issues-but-hearts-of gold, four-headed hopper, are the four tracks that never saw issuance on Sire LP #7. Having only just listened, I find myself in stout agreement with whoever banished them. All contain meritorious seeds, but fail to cultivate them. Hearing early versions of songs that did make wax is more rewarding. (And I still find inexplicable the inclusion of three covers -- two opening side one!)

Scheduled for Nov. 27 issuance.

Recommended: "Outsider," "What'd Ya Do?," "Highest Trails Above," "Somebody Like Me," "Psycho Therapy," "In the Park," "Time Bomb," "Every Time I Eat Vegetables It Makes Me Think of You"

Demo videos were unavailable at presstime. These are original LP takes: "Highest Trails Above"   "Psycho Therapy" (Official video)  "In the Park"   "Every Time I Eat Vegetables It Makes Me Think of You"
