Cash O'Riley

Booze, Lust, Lies & Heartache...Revisited   digital

(Rumble Road Records)

Initially issued in 2002, Cash's Booze again populates earways, now in fresh incarnation. Good ol' hayseed romping mashed into chipper with  outlawism and razor-ready Blues; what exits demands discernment. Select passages recall glorious half-moment before hillbilly heels were kicked up toward what local hands would term Rockabilly. Every love-lucky, back-country buck carries a homestyle dolly's curling b&w snap in his britches' bib pocket.

(All proceeds from digital sales go directly to worthy cause "Hobohemian" Cash.)

Recommended: "Send Along," "Big City Queen," "Everytime You Walk," "The Last Time," "I'll Be Gone," "I May Have," "Make You Cry," "Enough Beer"

Slim & the Gems

MotorV8or

(Rumble Road Records)

Cookin' with premium. Given sounds by which to gauge, Monroe Slim, Zen, and Rob seem not only to have a crusade before them - that being, to heft high the jukin' bop that has led generations of kicks-hunters to wildside manna - but are exactly the chromed lowriders to pull off that noble pursuit. All instruments seem set to 'Tear up' - fracture-perpetrators thrash 'em like they stole somethin'. Boss wailin', all the way to the passion pit on the outskirts of town.

Recommended: "King of the Streets," "Too Old to Fight," "Ethyl," "Hillbilly Pimp," "Detroit Steel," "Weak in the Knees," "Baby Please Don't Go," "Locomotive," "Pocket Full of Smoke"

Cash O'Riley

An account of life's beat-downs, buoyed across the honky tonk angel's face on the barroom floor by kick-pumped Country. Piano-pounding, dangerous drums, and truly cutthroat guitar have the back of weathered drawlings.

First issued in 2012 by American Wax Records. Rumble Road has wisely put it on 2026 shelves.

Shane Vain and the Village Vandals

Rubber City Rumblebilly

(Rumble Road Records)

To quote Sir Cliff: "Ballads and Calypso have got nothin' on / real Country music that just drives along!" Carousing in these grooves is Rock'n'Roll all liquored-up and with eyes peeled for kicks. Paraded are devastations from the Akron combo's extant catalog, as well as just-out-of-wrapper "Can't Beat the House." Milquetoasts would scamper from this howl.

Recommended: "Hot Rod Big Rig," "Till That Moon Goes Down," "The Ballad of Large Marge," "It's Not Rocket Science," "How Many Times," "Three-Ton Jack," "Can't Beat the House"
