Katmen

Katmen Are Back

(Foottapping Records)

As their years of separate barnstorming attested, Darrel and Slim Jim towered over their pomped fellows. So when the two pool their capacities, as they first did on their 2006 debut pairing, the product awes. Settle in, then, and be assured veterans hold sway. (This time, their pursuit is accelerated by doghouse-grappler Adam Miles, whose own proficiency cannot be overstated.) Tyros taking up instruments, their intentions Rockabilly ones, would do well to study the work of these masters.

Recommended: "The Caveman Bop," "Her Only Mistake," "Off the Hook," "Make Me Know You're Mine," "A Teddy Boy's Dream," "Too Late For Goodbyes," "Time After Time," "Too Much Monkey Business," "The Katmen Stomp," "Skinny Jim"
