A decade has elapsed since Peru's Los Morts recorded their Q.E.P.D. debut. Time's passage brought maturation. While the horror that lurked within their maiden effort has endured, it's become more intriguingly pronounced; youthful directness has surrendered to inclination toward complexity. Too, the passion and surge for which Los Morts was notorious continue to invigorate. I find Spanish incomprehensible, but relying upon song titles and the vocalist's grim tones, I feel confident in pronouncing the narratives unpleasant. Of course, splatter enthusiasts will find such characterization seductive.
