The Memphis Morticians

Bereave It Or Not - Another Album By...

(Space Hearse Records)

A February Facebook post proclaimed their reanimation. Five in number, they revealed new songs would soon unfold.

Before fresh monstrousness is freed from chains, reappraisal of earlier iniquity will surely arouse hunger.

Bereave It Or Not was the Morticians' sophmore waxing. It was as if Sun Studios had been reconfigured by Kenneth Strickfadden. While vibes ranged from nitro-juiced furiousness to the teasingly measured malign, constant at each boot-stomp were thoroughly slapped, skeleton-rattling standup and mad demolition chording that exulted in distorted distemper.

Skins pounded into pulpy remains ensured course adherence.Without such reliable smack down, Psychobilly would writhe without spine.

Lurching at the fore of the cacophony, mutton-chopped yowler Trash Only unloosed vehemence, fusing hiccups and serrated thunderings. He found no tableau too ghoulish for portrayal. His was exactly the formidable presence demanded by the uproar.

Bereave It Or Not was a storm across nightmarish terrain that promised no unscathed return. Would only that Psycho so vital were more plentiful.

Crisp offerings from the Memphis Morticians cannot arrive too soon.

Recommended: "Fried World," "Shake and Howl," "Something's Gonna Break," "Roman Ritual," "Bobby Socks Sinners," "Dead By Dawn," "Undead Rockers," "Tentacles," "Strange Invaders," "13 O'Clock Rock"
