Through innumerable onstage sessions since their 1994 germination, the men of Chicago's Bottletones carved renown as proclaimers of real sounds for real people, but with serrated edges that devastated. Rockabilly, bar-band Rock'n'Roll, Surf, Swing, and classical Punk Rock angling can all be located in their strapping oeuvvre. (They even ladle Mexican piquance in "El Chupacabra," the result being succculence.) Crash B has now remixed these selections from 1999 longplayer The Sheriff Of Bottletone County; already sufficiently prepossessing to smother dancers' work-week worries, they have been afforded sharpness that magnifies that efficacy.
