Veronica Grim

Summer Goth   EP

(Sad Cowboy Records)

Here, aberrance is celebrated with seductive passion. "Bats in the belfry and beach on the brain," is Veronica's title-song description of herself and the painted co-conspirator she favors. The combo at her back gives the finger to genre confines. Their brawn-with-brains performance does much to project clever and quirky compositions. They've availed themselves of Punk, Pop, and Alternative fashions, yet this fevered work exists on its own planet. "We're so fucking weird, and we like it a lot!" Bohemianism honors no convention.
